In psychology, psychologists believe that “intuition” is actually a general phenomenon of thinking, which can be understood as a sudden, unexpected insight or understanding. Scientists, on the other hand, prefer to call this phenomenon “life experience,” which they believe determines how well a person can analyze what’s going on and draw conclusions.
In real life, there are always many things that are unspeakable, but they seem to be fulfilled. So people call it “intuition”, also known as “sixth sense”, which is like an idea or aversion that pops up quickly without thinking, and provides us with ideas that are not necessarily reliable. In life, there are indeed many people who feel that they have the ability to predict. For example, we often say that women are born intuitive animals, which is really accurate.
Magical "intuition" doesn't actually exist
In psychology, psychologists believe that “intuition” is actually a general phenomenon of thinking, which can be understood as a sudden, unexpected insight or understanding. It can be produced and formed in any scientific, artistic or technological product thought and conception, and occupies a very important position in the history of human cognition.
And scientists at the University of Hertfordshire in the UK have also studied the phenomenon of “intuition”. The research team at the University of Hertfordshire, led by Richard Wiseman, conducted an experiment involving 15,000 volunteers, both men and women. Among them, 80% of female volunteers and 58% of male volunteers believed that they had a good intuition. In the experiment, the scientists asked volunteers to look at different pictures of smiling faces and point out who was actually happy and who was pretending to be happy. The same number of men and women answered correctly, both at 70%. That is, men and women have the same “intuition”.
Moreover, scientists prefer to call this phenomenon “life experience”. They believe that it is life experience that determines the extent to which a person is able to analyze what happened and draw conclusions. And the only thing that can really affect this ability is age. A young child does not have an intuition, and only an adult woman can boast of it.
Of course, the ability of men and women to use experience may be different. This phenomenon is caused by differences in brain activity between the sexes. As we all know, the human left brain is responsible for rational thinking, and the right brain is responsible for emotions and intuition. Women’s left and right hemispheres are better connected, while men only have connections within each hemisphere. It is therefore easier for women to reconcile their analytical and intuitive thinking.
